I'm more of an RPG Geek myself. Played D&D for a time but I'm more of online message board writing kind of gamer. So lame but so fun :). I just figured I'd say hey and thanks for letting me join the group. Gamer Girls unite :).

Just A Love Machine

More work on my first 3d animation. Different renderer (better quality), refined sequencing...etc, etc. Work on this animation is just a test run off all software I have available to me, finding an end result. Once I figure out what works best for me, then more things will happen in the future. Gotta start somewhere right?

For those interested in the details (meaning you skipped the credits) All aspects of this animation were created by me, with the exception of the music.

Average time for rendering about 35 sec of the animation about 13 hours.

Sonora Academy of Witchcraft & Wizardry: a HP universe RPG

Do you love writing? Do you love the Harry Potter universe? Have you ever wanted an opportunity to live vicariously in the Harry Potter universe but through an original character of your own creation?

(Oh, and like most HP RPGs, we're all chicks, so it's all fun all the time.)

Sonora Academy of Witchcraft and Wizardry is entering its ninth school year, and roughly fifth RL year. Its authors come from all over the world and each shares a love for the universe created by JK Rowling. While the actual characters from Rowling's books are ignored, as are the specific conditions of their existence, Sonora Academy feels this gives the authors a wider scope of freedom in terms of character creation and development.

If you enjoy writing and want to take on the challenge of an original character entering his or her first year at Sonora Academy, go apply today! Applications are open and the new term begins in April.

Meh is me...

I've been avoiding blogging like the plague for a bit now. So much anger, hurt and resentment going on I fear I may put words out there that I can never take back. Yes, I do realize that a blog can be quite sufficiently cathartic, however to me it feels like regurgitating crap that isn't necessarily meant for the masses...

I suppose it doesn't help the matter much if you really don't know that the problem is, other than knowing that everything surrounding you is not helping the situation. When most people ask "what's wrong", they generally expect a tangible answer. Something they can possibly feel motivated to help fix. Human nature of course...
"I don't know" is an answer that very few do understand. So you feel a bit obligated to give them something, anything...no matter how big or small so they can feel better.
Vicious cycle there.

Meh...

So what have a I been up to then the last couple of weeks? Well aside from my normal Mommy routines, cooking, cleaning...working. Not a helluva lot. I occasionally jump onto CoV with my daughter Yaya, pretending to be a kickass villains. Heroes suck by the way ;) More recently though I've been getting up in the mornings, and after sending Moo to school been settling down to some painting. Something quite right about taking a huge piece of canvas and muckin' it up.

The pics are some of the things I've been working. The last not being completed to my satisfaction yet, but probably in a day or so. We'll see....

Rockband vs. Guitar Hero : Which Is The Best?

Rockband special edition

I recently bought Rockband for my XBOX 360. I bought it because I was encouraged by the videos uploaded in Youtube as they use their rockband. I was really amazed so I bought it immediately.

But at the store, I saw Guitar Hero III. Whew!!! Suddenly I became confuse. it is a little bit cheaper than rockband so I started to think what's the best. The store's salesman doesn't give us good features of Rockband and Guitar Hero III. So I went out and rent internet. I search the net about rockband and Guitar Hero III.

This is what I found out. Most of the XBOX users prefer Rockband. They said that rockband has better feature than Guitar Hero. The drums is more cool, the visual is not just plain cartoon, the songs, and etc. Guitar Hero became a bit more cool on guitar. Guitar Hero really has great guitar.

I decided to buy Rockband because I am more interested in drums than guitar. I went to the store again and decided to buy the Rockband Special Edition.

I've been using Rockband and it's good so far.

Starting anew in LotrO

So I've gotten back into LotrO which I did not expect at all. My Aion guild was talking about finding a game to play together and Lord of the Rings was brought up, I had heard a lot of good things about the game lately especially from the Virgin Worlds and GAX podcasts and blogs. So what the heck I figured it would be nice to start a new character as one of the new classes available in Moria.

I went with an elf rune-keeper, which at first I thought looked odd with the fire animation. I feel like I'm squatting down and letting out farts of hell. Which as a dwarf works pretty great. :D But my dainty little elf I don't know.. Fortunately the class is fun enough that I am forgetting about the ungraceful animations.

I had forgotten how truly beautiful the environment of the game is, I can't say it's at the level of Conan but it has it's own charm that it doesn't have to be. My main gripe with the looks has always and will continue to be with the models. The NPC's are wooden and stiff and the only character they have is they are race appropriate and some of them depict aged characters. But the PC characters are vastly different then the NPCs even the 'epic' ones like Aragorn that you feel much more solid and fluid then they are. I don't know why Turbine went this way, it seems they had two different teams working on the models and it shows, painfully. To me it takes away from the immersion and atmostphere, and my other lesser complaint is the ommision of children anywhere. And don't tell me the hobbits playing hide and seek or listening to a story in the shire are children, they are not. Maybe they are tweens (teens), but you won't see any hobbit or humans younger then that. The LotrO devs have stated they simply ran out of time to create child models and don't think they are worth spending the time when there's other things they could add. I'm sure many will agree with them.

The gameplay is just great though and what makes this game to me very fun to spend time in. Had a great time last night and killed a few goblins with a guild mate, she helped me set up my mic which I forgot how to do or where to do it amongst other things and got the chance to chat awaywith voice. It's actually really simple to enable the voice chat feature, a simple matter of check a box and pushing Z to talk. And the quality was really great, not sure what to praise but I did not experience any distracting grrrshhshh noise at all. I'm sure there's a term for that...

So yeah that's pretty much it for now, I'll be able to enjoy this for the next 3 months until Aion releases, if it doesn't I may play more. ^_^;;
